"Haven of Hope has been a blessing in mine and my son Beaumont’s life.  We moved to Appleton over a year ago.  As a single/divorced mom of a disabled child, it became difficult as he got older to find child care and employment that was compassionate regarding our circumstances. 

Finally 3 months ago I was forced to face the truth quite quickly, either find childcare or I would lose my job.  In a frantic effort to find adequate care for Beaumont, I called every day care facility in the Appleton phone book.  The general response given was, “Your son has medical needs beyond the services we provide.” 

My last ditch effort was the remaining facility in the phone book. I was sure I couldn’t afford the tuition.  By now, I was in tears for fear of losing my only job and hurting for Beaumont because he deserves so much better then what people give him credit for.

I picked up the phone and called Haven of Hope.  I remember thinking that the lady on the other end of the phone must think I am nuts, because I was crying so uncontrollably I couldn’t breathe and could barely talk.  I explained my dilemma, my huge dilemma, and I will never forget what I was told. “Take a deep breath. You’re not going to lose your job. We will make it work.” 

Three months later, they have delivered well beyond what they promised me in that frantic phone call.  I couldn’t have asked for a better angel looking over us that day.  Haven of Hope gave me hope that I can overcome and work toward a better life for myself and my son Beaumont.  They gave me the support and friendships of individuals that I will be forever thankful for as they help us through our journey.  By providing support to organizations like Haven of Hope you are enabling families like ours the opportunity to work, learn, and pay it forward to others who are in need. "
